Deluxe¶
This is my Smiths with Deluxe movement, and wooden frame. It has a tell-tale window where you can see the motor in operation.
It is a NSW Railways clock, having serial number 379; which I’m anecdotally told has an asset record in 1961 as being at the ticketing office of Bellmore Station. The ticketing office was built in 1937 which would suggest the clock was purchased for and spent it’s working life there.
These are apocryphal stories regarding a Yellow Book with details and records of the entire Railways fleet of clocks - I’m very interested in discovering these source documents for myself.
