Strength training is incredibly important for overall health. Retention of muscle mass is the primary indicator of lowering biological ageing.
I spent many years training in commercial gyms; but now much prefer training at home - I can train in bare feet; at my leisure; with my shirt off. With home-training it is impractical/expensive to purchase barbells, benches, squat racks - the staples of gyms.
Instead, I utilise gymnastic rings, and kettle bells - which take up little space, and are an incredibly effective, functional training, and mentally challenging to perform.
